Kresge Foundation CEO Speaks Out on Green Ceiling and Diversity Data

Posted on

Don’t miss the op-ed by Kresge Foundation President and CEO Rip Rapson in which he calls his fellow environmental funders to task for perpetuating a “green ceiling” within the environmental movement—where people of color and other groups are under-represented among staff and boards of environmental organizations, and grassroots organizations are less likely to receive philanthropic dollars. The full piece, which originally appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, can be found on the Green 2.0 website.

In related news, a press release from Green 2.0 reports that, one year after the launch of the expanded GuideStar Profile, a majority of the 40 largest environmental funders have not yet pledged to share their diversity data.
